What we learned from Left4Dead

Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, the game pits its four protagonists—dubbed the "Survivors"—against hordes of the infected. There are four game modes: a single-player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op campaign mode; an eight-player online versus mode; and a four-player survival mode. In all modes, an artificial intelligence (AI), dubbed the "Director", controls level pacing and item placements, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.

FML Quotes: Best of December

Today, my six year old told me I have a big nose. When I told her that she hurt my feelings, she laughed and said "Don't be silly mummy, ugly people don't have feelings." FML

Today, two guys broke into my apartment to rob me at gunpoint. While I was wanking. FML

Today, my boyfriend thought it would be funny to speak Parseltongue to my vagina to "prepare the Chamber of Secrets for entry". FML

Today, I sent a picture to my girlfriend of my erect penis with a quote saying "It's waiting for you." She responded with a picture of her left hand showing her left ring finger with a quote saying "It's waiting for you too." FML

Today, while I was working at McDonald's, a man and his wife ordered a Sundae. I gave the guy his sundae and realized I'd forgotten something. I said, "One second sir. Let me grab your nuts." I realized what I said when his wife gave me the death glare. FML

Today, I was cleaning one of my elderly patient's teeth. After finishing and reminding her to floss, I realised she had died. Supposedly she was dead for a good 20 minutes. FML

Today, my daughter told my son that Santa is not real. Of course, being a child, he started to cry. My only problem is, my son is 11 and my daughter is 6. FML

Today, I was playing hide and seek with a few friends. I hid in the bathroom, under the sink in a cabinet. I ended up having to sit there quiet as a mouse while my grandfather took an incredibly long and vile dump. I was too afraid to move. Let's just say he didn't rush it. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I were playing around. He threw me over his shoulder and turned around, smacking my face against the wall. Then he smacked my head into the fridge after turning round to see "what that loud bang" was. FML

Today, the elevator got stuck in between floor 4 and 5 at my doctors office. I had been having violent diarrhea. It was the reason I was at the doctor. Elevator was stuck for 35 minutes. During that time, I diarrhea'd in my pants twice. There were seven other people in the elevator. FML

Enjoy your day :)

Time Killer

Last post was about RISE OF NATIONS

This two games are for you to kill some boring time. In first you must drill and collect all money and diamonds that you can. You goal is to get rich so you could buy a yacht for yourself.

Second is one of the best tower defenses game I ever played. Its so fun and addictive.

I hope you enjoyed your time.

Presenting: Rise of Nations

Rise of Nations is a real-time strategy computer game, developed by Big Huge Games and published by Microsoft on May 20, 2003. The development of the game was led by veteran Brian Reynolds, of Civilization II and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Concepts taken from turn-based strategy games have been added into the game including territories and attrition warfare. Rise of Nations features 18 civilizations, playable through 8 ages of world history.

Rise of Nations employs the concept of "territory," as employed in the Civilization long series of games; the area near the player's settlements is considered their territory, and players may only construct buildings within their territory or that of an ally. A nation's borders can be expanded by the creation and expansion of cities and forts, a technology tree, and obtaining access to certain rare resources. Other technologies and resources cause enemy units to suffer attrition over time, which can eventually destroy an unsupported invasion force.

Cities are centrally important to gameplay; most buildings can only be built within a certain distance of a city, borders are most easily expanded by building and expanding cities, and cities are the only source of the resource-collecting Citizen unit. Only a limited amount of cities can be built and cities can only be destroyed by its owner. Conquered cities join the conqueror's faction.

Gameplay focuses heavily on creating a balance between Offense, Defense, and the nations economy based in the city. In each battle economy is vital to win. It is also notable that if a nation loses all of its cities that nation has lost that battle. Generalship is also needed in this game like most RTS games; this includes a knowledge of the troops and what they are good at fighting (pikemen will kill cavalry easier than cannon will). Learning the surrounding terrain of your empire to defend from attack and to flank an enemy army will allow a player to fight more efficiently. Generals can also be created from a fort to aid an army.

Good old times: Worms

Worms is an artillery video game developed by Team17 and released in 1995. It is the first game in the Worms series of video games and was initially only available for the Amiga. Later it was ported to other platforms.

Worms is a turn based game where a player controls a team of worms against other teams of worms that are controlled by a computer or human opponent. The aim is to use various weapons to kill the worms on the other teams and have the last surviving worm(s).

WWorms are a turn based artillery game, similar to other early games in the genre such as Scorched Earth. The game is set on a two-dimensional field. The players control a team of worms, each consisting of four members. The objective is to kill every member of the opposing team(s) within a set time limit per round. Each turn, which lasts from 45 to 100 seconds, a player may move a selected worm and use one or more of the available weapons and tools.

The weapons include simple firearms like the shotgun and uzi, alongside a variety of heavy weapons such as the bazooka (the default selection), cluster grenades and airstrikes. The game also includes a number of 'secret' weapons (available through cheat codes on options screens or 'weapon drops' during the game) such as the Banana Bomb and exploding sheep, for which the series has become famous.

Also available are various tools such as the 'girders' - primarily used to add protection - as well as the 'drill', 'blowtorch' and 'ninja rope', which are primarily available for greater mobility across the playing field.

Santa Claus

One legend associated with Santa says that he lives in the far north, in a land of perpetual snow. The American version of Santa Claus lives at the North Pole, while Father Christmas is said to reside in Lapland. Other details include: that he is married and lives with Mrs. Claus; that he makes a list of children throughout the world, categorizing them according to their behavior; that he delivers presents, including toys, candy, and other presents to all of the good boys and girls in the world, and sometimes coal or sticks to the naughty children, in one night; and that he accomplishes this feat with the aid of magical elves who make the toys, and nine flying reindeer who pull his sleigh.

Some funny pic of Santa.

And three videos from Remi.

Presenting: Cold Fear

Cold Fear is a third-person survival horror video game designed by Darkworks and published by Ubisoft. It was released on April 29, 2005, in Europe.

In Cold Fear, players can choose between a behind-the-shoulder camera angle or a fixed camera angle. The game employs many scare tactics. For example, when opening a door, a creature may jump out at the player, or while talking to an NPC, a creature may just burst out of his chest. Cold Fear employs a stamina bar, which decreases as the player performs certain actions, like running.

The conditions on the deck of the ship can change the degree of control the player has of Hansen. Since the game takes place in the middle of the ocean during a storm, there is a lot of movement of the vessel as it bobs up and down through the rough seas. The cargo ship continuously banks left and right while Hansen is walking on deck, making it more difficult to aim and to walk in a straight line. In some instances, the ship rocks so much, and to such a great degree, that Hansen can get knocked down and potentially sent overboard. There are also many environmental hazards, like swinging electrical wires and crates hooked up to ropes, which are also affected by the swaying of the ship, and can easily crash into the player or enemies if they aren't careful. Waves crashing on to the ship's deck may also inflict damage on a player's health. The environmental hazards also effect enemies.

In Cold Fear the player takes on the role of Tom Hansen, a former soldier now in the employ of the United States Coast Guard who has been sent in to investigate a mysterious Russian whaler Eastern Spirit in the middle of the Bering strait. The beginning cut-scenes show a SEAL team under the orders of a CIA agent, identifying the ship and trying to discover its cargo. Unfortunately, the SEAL squad is slaughtered mercilessly by an unknown threat. CIA agent Bennett then orders any government vessel in the vicinity of the Russian boat to investigate, and it is Hansen's ship which responds. As Hansen, the player finds out that the boat is occupied by hostile Russian soldiers and by strange creatures, known as "exocels", that use humans and other life forms as hosts, to feed on and to use as protection from the environment. These parasites are a threat to Hansen from inside and outside their host bodies. His investigation leads to the mystery of the ship and its lethal cargo, as well as the unethical experiments which were being carried out aboard the ship.

I played this game while ago. Its fun and sometimes can be scary. The end is thought because of final fight and final boss.

Enjoy and come back.

Interesting: Dragons

Dragons are creatures that are found in all mythologies around the world and are always presented in an almost identical manner, like a huge snake, or some other reptile, with magical properties.

Medieval vision of the dragon as we know it from the legends of chivalry arose after the area of ancient Mesopotamia, the remains of dinosaurs found. In ancient Greek, Roman and Celtic culture dragons have been presented in a different way, similar to China's vision of these powerful creatures, which are also credited with the discovery of huge bones.

(Video has 10 parts)

If you are truly powerful reptiles existed, then the alleged Loch Ness monster was perhaps the last representative of this kind.

For the people of medieval Europe and the Middle East, dragons are found everywhere and hiding in caves and were responsible for many evils. Many researchers therefore believe that dragons are nothing but a metaphor for evil, but this applies only to the Christian world.

In the Far East the dragon looked and still look quite different. They are wise and sophisticated creatures, associated with the elements water and air. According to Chinese legend, the gods came to earth from the belly flying dragon, which is a proof of ancient extraterrestrial visits to our planet.

In many eastern Indian tribes and cultures dragons were revered as representatives of the forces of nature and the universe and are held together with wisdom and longevity.

Enjoy and stay cool!

Interesting: Vampires and Chuchacabra

Legends about vampires, creatures that suck human blood derived from ancient times and are present in all cultures.
Different people have different ways of looking at the bloodsuckers, a modern version of a vampire, like the immortals, sharp fangs and pale path is due to Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.

Before that vampires are presented significantly different, with dark complexion and no sharp and long canines. In some cultures, vampires are presented as a young woman who with her long hair, suck blood.

The only evidence that there are creatures that suck the blood are the stories about the Chupacabra. This is a coyote-like creature that is encountered in the stories of South and Central America. This creature kills animals so it sucks the blood till the last drop.

Often, seeing this strange creature, and even video recordings of the same, in favor of its existence.
